There is a moment when a life stops fitting inside a house. Somebody has to carry the difference out, and how that is done decides whether it feels like a move or a loss.

This is not an estate cleanout. Nobody has died. The person whose things these are is standing right there, watching them leave, which makes it a harder job, not an easier one. Last Stage Services clears and cleans the home so a move into a smaller place, a retirement community, or assisted living happens without the family carrying it alone.

What we do

We empty the house and we clean it, in the same visit. Sorting room by room, donation runs for everything still usable, hauling for what is genuinely finished, and a full move-out clean so the property is ready for a sale, a closing, or a landlord's walkthrough. If a move manager or realtor is running the schedule, we work to theirs.

Their pace, not ours

The pace is set by the person, not by the truck. Nothing leaves the house without a yes. If a room takes an afternoon because there are decisions in every drawer, that is what the room takes. If they need to stop and pick it up tomorrow, that is a complete day's work and we come back.

We arrive without assuming which kind of day this is. Some people have chosen this move and are ready for it. Some are being moved. You do not find out from the driveway, and we do not decide before we are in the room.

One call, not three

Most families end up hiring three separate outfits, someone to haul, someone to clean, and someone to coordinate them. Cleaners do not haul and haulers do not clean, so the gaps between them become the family's problem on a deadline.

We do the two that get skipped, on one visit and one number. If you are already working with a senior move manager, we do not replace them, coordinating the move is their expertise and we are not competing for it. We are the part they hand over so their day stops slipping.

What it costs

The number is quoted before we start, from photos or a short walkthrough. Never an hourly meter running while a family makes hard decisions. If the job turns out bigger than it looked, you hear the reason before we do the extra work, never after. We come in under what a national franchise charges for the same day.

Where things go

Furniture, appliances, kitchenware, linens and household goods that still have life get driven to donation rather than dumped. For a lot of families this turns out to matter more than the price, that the things someone spent a life collecting go on to somebody who needs them, instead of into a landfill on the last day.

Ten percent of every job funds a local creek or park cleanup, taken off the top.
