Carport Installation in Austin

A freestanding carport with a black powder coated steel frame and a pale insulated underside, standing on a concrete and gravel drive alongside a brick house, with a new timber fence and gate behind it.

Austin gets hail. Not every year, and then twice in one spring. A single storm can take a windshield, a roof panel and every horizontal surface on the car, and the deductible alone usually costs more than covering the car would have.

Last Stage Services builds carports across Austin. Freestanding on their own posts, or attached to the house where the wall will carry it.

What we build

Single and double carports. Freestanding on a drive or a gravel pad, or attached along the side of the house. RV and boat covers where the height needs to go up rather than out. Powder coated steel frame, insulated roof panel rather than bare metal, so it is not a drum every time it rains.

The arithmetic nobody does for you

A hail claim on two vehicles will usually run past what the cover costs, before the deductible and before the premium moves. That is the whole case, and it is why a carport is the one structure here that can be argued on numbers instead of comfort.

It also keeps a car forty degrees cooler in August, which is not the reason to buy one and is the reason people are glad afterwards.

Anchoring is the entire job

A carport is a sail. A big flat roof on posts in open ground, in a place that gets straight line wind, is either anchored into proper footings or it is a liability lying across the drive.

Footings sized for the span and the soil, posts anchored rather than sat on the slab, and a roof pitched so water leaves rather than pools. If the ground will not take it, you hear that before anything is ordered.

What it costs

Installation starts at $2,560, which is two people for two days on a standard single or double. A taller RV cover, a longer span or footings dug into rock runs from $3,840.

The frame is quoted by span and post count, and you get that figure and the labor together before anything is ordered.

What is already on the pad

A collapsed metal cover, an old timber frame or a dead shed usually has to go first. That is hauling, which we already do, so it happens in the same visit.

The same crew builds patio covers and pergolas using the same systems.

Send photos of the drive or the pad, with a rough width and length and what you are covering, and get a number covering the frame, the footings and the build.
