The two day of roles
These get conflated constantly, and the night goes wrong at exactly the point where nobody knows which one they are.
Day of coordinator
Owns: The client and the run of show
- Holds the timeline and moves it when the room moves
- Is the single voice to the client and the venue
- Decides when the program starts and when service resumes
- Signs the crew out at the end
Does not run the floor or the bar.
Service supervisor
Owns: The crew and the floor
- Runs the pre shift and assigns stations before anyone is on the floor
- Names who owns the bar, the floor and the breakdown, out loud
- Holds service during the program and restarts it after
- Runs the post shift and writes the report
Does not negotiate timing with the client. That goes through the coordinator.
