3D Printer Repair, Setup & Calibration in Austin

A 3D printer with its bed lit blue and a part-finished print in place.

Most "broken" 3D printers are not broken. They are out of tune, clogged, or set up wrong by someone who ran out of patience before they ran out of problem.

Layer One fixes them. Our own workhorse is an Ender 3 that was given away as broken, taken apart, rebuilt, and re-tuned more times than we kept count of, until it ran perfectly. That is the exact skill on offer here.

What we fix

Bed leveling and adhesion that will not hold. Clogged or leaking hotends. Extruder and feeder problems, including grinding and under-extrusion. Warped or cracked prints traced back to their real cause. Belt, gantry, and frame alignment. Firmware and slicer settings that fight the machine. Full assembly of a kit or a printer that arrived in pieces. And the diagnosis of a printer someone else already gave up on.

We teach you to run it, not just hand it back

A printer you cannot calibrate is a printer that breaks again next month. So the repair comes with the why, what went wrong, what you do when it happens again, and how to keep the machine dialed in yourself.

You can hand it over and get it back working, or you can stand at the bench and learn it. The second option costs the same and is worth more.

Schools, makerspaces, and shops

The most common call is an organization with two or three dead printers in a closet and nobody left who knew how to run them. That is the easiest problem here to solve and the one that helps the most people once it is solved.

We can get the machines running, set up a maintenance routine, and train whoever inherits them, so the printers stay alive after we leave.

What it costs

Priced by the job, a single calibration, a full repair, an assembly, or ongoing support for a room full of machines. Tell us the printer and what it is doing, and you get a real answer before anything starts, honest in both directions.

Ten percent of it funds a local creek or park cleanup.

What we do not do

We are not a manufacturer's warranty depot and we do not sell you a new printer you do not need. If the honest answer is that a machine is genuinely dead or not worth the parts, you hear that instead of a quote.
