Indoor cats live substantially longer than outdoor cats, and everyone who has one has watched them sit at a window wanting the thing that would shorten their life.

A catio ends that argument. Woof, Wag & Purr designs and builds them across Austin, outdoor access with the cars, the coyotes, and the disease exposure taken out.

What we build

Window boxes for a small space or a rental. Patio and balcony enclosures. Full freestanding structures in a yard. Enclosed walkways connecting a house to a run. Cat doors and tunnels cut and framed properly so the connection is weathertight rather than a hole with a flap in it.

Inside: shelving at climbing heights that suit your particular cats, perches placed where the sun actually lands, scratching posts, hammocks, and secure planting of cat-safe greenery if you want it.

Built for your cats, not from a catalog

A catio for two elderly cats and a catio for a three-year-old who climbs everything are not the same structure. Height, ramp angles, shelf spacing, and how many separate perches there need to be so nobody gets cornered all change with the animals using it.

So the design starts with your cats and your actual space, which way the sun moves across it, where the wind comes from, what your lease or HOA allows, and what your yard is already doing.

Safety is the entire specification

Enclosure mesh that a raccoon cannot open, not decorative garden wire. A roof, because Austin sun in August is not enrichment. Escape-proof latching that a determined cat cannot solve, and cats do try. Shade and airflow designed in from the start rather than added when it turns out to be an oven. Ground protection where digging out is possible.

If it does not hold, it is a slower way of losing a cat.

Photos before a quote

Send photos of the space, the window, the patio, the yard, whatever it is, plus rough measurements and how many cats and how old they are. You get back an honest read on what fits, what it would take, and roughly what it costs.

If we walk it and find the structure will not carry it, or the HOA will not permit it, or a simpler build would serve your cats just as well, you hear that before anything is quoted. The number stays honest in both directions: if the build turns out simpler than planned, that comes off, and if something is discovered behind a wall, we talk about it before it becomes your problem.

Who builds it

The same ecosystem that does backyard structures, gazebos, and outdoor builds, this is a build, and it is built like one. What Woof, Wag & Purr adds is knowing what cats actually do with a structure once it exists, which is the part a general contractor guesses at.

Why almost nobody offers this

Catios sit in a gap. Contractors do not think about cats, and pet services do not build. So most people end up with a kit that does not fit their space or a plan and a weekend they never get around to.

Doing both is not clever. It just happens to be the combination this ecosystem already had.
