Recovery Speaker & Workshops in Austin

A speaker standing at a wooden lectern on a stage in front of a red curtain.

Most recovery talks are structured as a warning. Here is how far down it went, here is what saved me, do what I did.

This is a different talk. It is about what becomes available when a person stops accepting that their only two options are the ones they were handed, and it is delivered by someone who found that out the hard way and has been sober through the finding. Sangha Recovery brings that to groups, events, and organizations across Austin.

What the talk is about

That suffering is a catalyst rather than a sentence, and what changes in a person when they stop treating it as punishment. That autonomy survives recovery, and that being told you are powerless is not the only available path. That the overlooked thing, in a life, in a city, in a bin, is usually where something worth building starts. It is a talk about stepping off a board with only two squares on it, given by someone who did.

Who books this

Recovery organizations and sober-living programs looking for a voice their residents have not already heard six times. Treatment centers wanting a perspective that sits outside the standard frame. Conferences, community groups, and faith and secular gatherings. Companies and teams during wellness programming. Schools and youth programs, with the material fitted to the room.

Formats

A keynote or single talk, twenty minutes to an hour. A workshop with practice included, where the room does something rather than only listens. A facilitated circle, so a group experiences the format rather than hearing it described. Panels and moderated conversation. Sessions get shaped to the room, the time you have, and what your people actually need that day.

What is different about it

There is no program being sold from the stage and no next step anybody is funneled toward. Sangha Recovery earns nothing, it is one of the SymbioHaven ventures built purely to give, so nothing said from the front of a room is designed to move anyone toward a purchase. That tends to be audible, and it changes how a room listens.

On the personal story

There is one, it is heavy, and it gets told when the room is right for it and left alone when it is not. That is a conversation to have while planning rather than a decision made in the moment. You will know exactly what is being said before it is said.

Booking

Tell us the group, the setting, roughly how long you have, and what you are hoping people walk out with. We will tell you honestly whether this is the right fit, including when it is not.

CTA: What people find in this material, they tend to want to hand to someone else.
