Forager Acquisitions, Where the Overlooked Finds Where It Belongs

Reclaimed timber planks stacked into the back of a car, with tools and bags packed in around them.

Recruiting and sourcing are the same science. Nobody does both.

Finding the right person for a role and the right material for a use are one act: taking something the world has overlooked and putting it where it will actually thrive. Get it wrong and something fractures, a person burns out, a material goes to a landfill. Get it right and it holds for years.

Forager is the front door of the SymbioHaven ecosystem. Every person and every material comes through here, and so does everything the ventures make on the way back out.

Everyone else is holding one side

A recruiter knows employers and treats candidates as inventory. A supplier knows buyers and treats sources as a cost.

Neither one can see a match. They can only see a transaction, because half the picture belongs to somebody else.

We hold both books, who is available, and where they are needed, for people and materials alike. It is also what makes it obvious that a person looking for the right seat and a byproduct looking for the right use are the same problem wearing different clothes.

The three directions

One door, three ways through it.

Good brands find good people

Hiring, without the incentive to misplace anyone

Placement for companies that deserve the people they get. Our fee does not scale with the salary, because the work doesn't, which means we have no reason to push anyone toward a bigger seat instead of the right one. How the flat fee works.

People the market walked past

Employment first, placement after

Background checks and experience requirements disqualify good people before anyone reads a word about them. We don't argue with that wall, we outlast it, by employing people until the history exists that makes them hireable anywhere. Second-chance hiring.

Material and ingredients

Supply secured before anyone decides what to make

Overlooked byproduct streams routed to the ventures that turn them into something, and the ingredients those ventures produce, substrate, living soil, spawn, filament, made available to the growers and makers who build on them.

Sourcing is normally the last step

Most businesses decide what to make, then go find the material. That is how you end up capped by a supply wall you did not see coming.

We do it backwards on purpose. Secure abundant, un-walled access to something first, then build on top of it. It is the difference between grabbing a bag of something and actually owning the stream it came from.

What we will not do

We are not a staffing agency

Staffing is bodies on demand, priced by markup per warm body. That is a volume business with a dispatcher. This is not that.

We will not fill a seat we do not believe in

If the right match is not in front of us, we say so and take nothing. A flat fee is what makes walking away affordable, a percentage recruiter can't do it.

We will not place people into companies that sell poison

"Good brands" is a filter, not a compliment. If somebody comes to a role through us, the company already cleared a bar.

We do not chase strangers

This runs on relationships, not cold outreach. If you found us, someone sent you, or you were already looking for exactly this.

What actually gets measured

Everyone in this business gets paid for the moment of connection, the seat filled, the load delivered, the sale closed. But a connection is not a placement.

A placement is only real if it is still standing a year later. That is the only question we hold ourselves to, and it applies identically to a person in a job, a material in a venture, and a bag of soil in a grower's hands.

A short video will show what it looks like when the same set of eyes is on both sides of a match, and why the placements hold.
